A Little About Me

  • I believe in the importance of taking time for yourself and your community.

My work is important to me, but so is my wellbeing and my relationships. I prioritize investing in my spirituality and wellness, and showing up for others.

  • I've found that community and skill-building can overcome imposter syndrome.

I know what it feels like to the the only person who looks like me in the room, and at times it has made me question whether I belong. My experience at MIT building technical skills and surrounding myself with a supportive community gave me the confidence I needed to see the value I bring STEM spaces.

  • I love exploring everything the world has to offer.

Every year, I try to travel to 2-4 countries. Last year it was Panama, Mexico, Jamaica, and Bermuda. I love connecting with new cultures and am a big fan of great food and drinks, especially seafood, red wine, and farm-to-table foods.

  • I'm passionate about environmental and health justice.

I see a lot of discrepancies in people’s access to healthy environments, green spaces, and medical resources, particularly disadvantaged and minority communities around the globe. I’m very motivated to do whatever I can to help change that.

MY ADVICE

“Explore different paths. [It’s more important to] focus on gaining skills than having a perfect plan.”

WHO I AM

People describe me as..

  • Dynamic

I have a lot of diverse interests, from sports (go Knicks!) to fashion, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Making space for the things I love doesn’t take away from my leadership or technical skills.

  • Curious

I enjoy reading and learning about new stories, cultures, and ways of thinking. I always welcome a good debate. I enjoy being challenged and challenging others, and feel like it’s an important part of learning.

  • Fun & Joyful

I try to live life to the fullest, whether I’m planning new adventures around the world, having a great time with friends, or bringing a little extra joy into everyday moments.

  • Caring

Some people may describe me as “empathetic to a fault”. I make an effort to show people that they matter, belong, and that I care about them. I regularly check in with friends, family, and colleagues and remind them how much I value them.
