Sports.

I’ve always been an active person. I’ve been playing competitive sports since childhood and became a decorated Division I women’s basketball player in college. After suffering knee injuries, I decided to take a step back, but I still spend a lot of time staying active. These days I practice a lot of yoga and weightlifting. I also love playing fetch with my two French bulldogs.

Volunteering.

My philosophy is “service before self”, which I applied during my long-time service in the US Air Force. Since then, I have become an advocate for women and veterans. I volunteer in women’s soup kitchens and am working to make holistic healthcare practices more accessible to veterans.

Hiking & Traveling.

Having lived in many countries and US states, I’ve gained an appreciation for being outdoors. I love connecting with friends through hiking groups, spending time outside, and conquering new cities.

Baking.

I love baking cookies and giving them to my friends and neighbors. I especially enjoy making themed cookies for different holidays like Halloween and Christmas. Baking reminds me of my family and my childhood and the generosity of sharing food with others. I learned to bake from my mom.

Ceramics.

Lately, I’ve been really into throwing clay. It’s a creative and relaxing process, and my house is currently filled with about a thousand handmade bowls. I often share them friends and family, but their houses are starting to fill up too!

A Little About Me

  • I don't take life too seriously.

    While I’m serious about my work and the causes I care about, I really enjoy letting loose and having a good time. I have a bit of a reputation as a jokester, and I also love singing karaoke and spooky horror films.

  • Supporting my community is a major priority for me.

    I’m very driven to help make the world a little better for women and veteran’s, especially when it comes to health and wellbeing. In addition to volunteering in my community, I dedicate time at work to supporting veterans and equity.

  • My dad was in the military, so I've lived a lot of places.

    As a kid, we moved to eleven different military bases around the world. I always faced it head-on and enjoyed a lot about it, but there were also times that I felt out of place or left behind.

  • I learned a lot about discipline and commitment from playing competitive sports.

    From playing Division I basketball in college and overseas to climbing a 14,000-foot mountain, I’ve always been drawn to (and shaped by) the mental and physical challenge that goes along with sports.

WHO I AM

People describe me as..

  • Funny.

    I love laughing and having a good time. When I spend time with family and friends, it’s always lively and fun, and I’ve been known to pull a prank or two.

  • Ambitious

    In the same way I’m drawn to climbing mountains, I like the feeling of setting lofty goals for myself and putting in the time and discipline to achieve them. There are big rewards that come with challenging yourself and believing you’re capable of great things.

  • Dedicated.

    Whether supporting others, showing up for my family, taking care of my dogs, throwing clay bowls, or focusing on my own personal growth, I commit fully to the things I care about.

  • Loyal.

    When I was in the Air Force Academy, I learned a lot about how important loyalty is for teams. It’s about understanding that there are things bigger than ourselves, and staying true to what (and who) you believe in.
