-
Since microbiology encompasses a wide variety of disciplines, it’s important to know how to communicate with other scientists. Science is usually very collaborative, and you have to communicate your findings to others often, whether experts from different fields or members of the public.
-
Science can be a tool for solving whatever problems you already care about. It can also be a tool for discovering new problems just waiting to be solved. There are so many different ways that you can contribute to helping people, animals, or our planet. Find what sparks your excitement and makes you feel proud of your contribution.
-
The road to a career in science is not a solo mission. Finding or creating a support group that helps you to get past hurdles, teaches you, or simply shares similar interests and values as yourself will help you to achieve your goals. These support networks will have different roles at different times in your journey. Never be afraid to ask for help.
