Tips from Bryan Yee
  • In STEM, we’re taking on some pretty big challenges, and the science itself is only one part of that. Figure out what you enjoy and comes naturally to you, and look for ways to participate in STEM that take advantage of your unique interests. There may be roles and opportunities you never expected.

  • This was one of the most valuable lessons I learned. It may seem simple, but it can actually be really difficult for us to make a choice and confidently stick to it. Figure out what values guide you, get to know yourself, and build the skill of being comfortable with uncertainty.

  • Harnessing and collecting knowledge gives a company like mine a competitive advantage. But technology alone isn’t enough. Our industry is run by people, and that means understanding how people work, think, and communicate make it possible to build much stronger teams no matter what field you’re in.
